How to Get to Bantayan Island from Bacolod or Cadiz City in Negros Occidental

The northern city of Cadiz, Negros Occidental is the point of departure if you want to travel to Bantayan Island in Northern Cebu, but if you start your journey from Bacolod City we have to give you the complete details on how to reach Bantayan Island.


If you start your journey from Bacolod City, the capital city of Negros Occidental, you need to proceed directly to the newly-renovated Bacolod City North Bus Terminal where the famous Ceres Bus stationed.

There are other reasons that we need to consider, if you're a traveler from Manila or other nearby cities and visiting Bacolod City but want to visit Bantayan island also, you need to follow the instructions carefully.



If you're at the Bacolod-Silay International Airport, just asked for a taxi or other forms of transportation that will bring you to Bacolod City North Bus Terminal, located in Barangay Bata, Bacolod City near the plant of Pepsi Cola Bottlers in Negros Occidental.

Some travelers who are traveling from either Iloilo or Manila and used the BREDCO Terminal of Bacolod City, just asked from some drivers to bring you to the Bacolod City North Bus Terminal.


Once you arrived at the Bacolod City North Bus Terminal where the Yellow Bus (Ceres Liner) stationed just asked the guard or look for the sign of Cadiz City. If you want more convenience you can select the Aircon Bus worth P95.00 or the Ordinary Bus worth P89.00. (Bus Fare subject to change without notice).

From Bacolod City North Bus Terminal it will take around 1 hour or 1:15 minutes before you arrived at the Cadiz City Terminal in Cadiz City. From the bus terminal, just look for a tricycle that will take you to the Cadiz City Commercial Port located in Barangay Banquerohan, Cadiz City with a minimal cost of P25.00 per person.



Take Note: Be careful of some arrogant drivers who will charge a bigger fee from customers especially travelers, or foreigners. If the tricycle driver will charge you higher than the P25.00 minimum fare, just report to the office of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) stationed at the Cadiz City Port.

The Super SM Express 1, 2 and 3 will take you to Bantayan Island from Cadiz City at an approximately 2.5 to 3.5 hours but depending on the sea conditions. During the typhoon seasons it would usually take more than 3 hours of travel but during the summer season it will only take 2.5 hours.
